Welcome to my Western Art Gallery. I hope you will enjoy my American Indian Portraits. I use etching, acrylic paint, and computer graphics to create my artwork.
It started in 1991, after visiting Powwow dances in Louisiana and Texas. I got inspired and started painting and drawing. I experimented with oil, acrylic, Charcoal, pastels, ink, watercolour and printing techniques. Meeting and spending time with Native Americans have enriched my life.
Prints of my Indian Portraits is available at: Bakka-Prints.
The latest paintings are my vision of Indians in their regalia, during the 1800s.
My other art site is built as a database of all my art from the beginning until today. In Leif Bakka Art you can follow my development as an artist and view portraits, still life, buildings and schoolwork from University of Southwestern Louisiana (University of Louisiana, UL, today)
You can select text on different subjects such as Indian leggings, Indian painters, printmaking and etching technique. I will ad new articles on Native American subjects, art, design, architecture, and history and about collecting antiques. My other websites for antiques and ski-art and Ski World Museum covers some of my other interests. I have also made websites for a Kit Fong Ling (artist) and the art club I am in; Sauda Kunstlag The web pages are made in Blue Voda a website builder. The graphic parts are done in Photoshop.
I also have a modest library and have started a small Website for books. Last year I was commissioned to make the site for artist Samuel Tveit. He is a well-known artist from Sauda, Norway (my hometown). This site is also in its starting face.
